Good to know
Groups are informal, volunteer-led, and free for Centrepoint members.
Groups provide informal learning practice and assistance. They are not a substitute for structured language school courses.
Groups are offered at various levels but are not suitable for absolute beginners.
Non-members may attend one free trial session but need to become Centrepoint members if they want to continue.
Our language conversation groups are very popular and some groups may be full.
Want to join a language conversation group?
Step 1: Contact the Language Conversation groups Team
Email conversations@centrepoint.ch and you will receive a short application form asking for your language level and basic personal information.
Step 2: Trial Session
If a suitable group has space, you will be invited to a trial session. Only attend a group after receiving confirmation from conversations@centrepoint.ch.You can try more than one group if places are available.
Step 3: Waiting List
If groups are full, you can choose to be placed on a waiting list. Priority is given to:
- Members not already in a language conversation group
- Non-members
- Members already in one or more groups
Step 4: Confirmation
After the trial session, the group leader will decide if the group is suitable for you.
conversations@centrepoint.ch will email you to confirm that you can continue to attend the group if you wish to.
