from Centrepoint and beyond
Peta Hysen: Dec 2025/Jan 2026
Peta and her family are from Australia and moved to Switzerland in 2006. She became familiar with Centrepoint through participating in ArtWall exhibitions.
In May 2022 Peta began volunteering as the Artwall Curator. She also completed the training to become a front desk volunteer. Volunteering has allowed her to meet new people, especially after she stopped working. In addition, it gave her an opportunity to engage in something she is passionate about—art.
For Peta, the most rewarding part is helping emerging artists share their work and supporting them in their journey.
When I asked her how would you like to turn members into volunteers, Peta replied, ”Ask people what they’re passionate about and see if they’d be interested in starting a group at Centrepoint. When members sign up for a year, they could commit to volunteer at one event—such as an Apero, Vernissage, or book sale. It would only require a couple of hours per year, and if everyone contributed, there would be no shortage of help.”
The Board thanks Peta for her contribution. With her calm and friendly manner she made the exhibiting artists and their guests feel very welcome at Centrepoint. The ArtWall vernissages are very popular and she and her team (Carole and Cherylanne) are working hard to make it even more successful. I’m sure the Centrepoint community appreciates it a lot.
